"It is truly a sad moment for many Jamaicans to be hearing from the private sector that casino gambling should be formally introduced. It lacks a paucity of ideas on their part and a lack of sensitivity to the principles and values of the vast majority of Christians in Jamaica," Peter Garth said in a press statement."

This quote was taken from the Jamaican Observer. I see his point, however the introduction of gambling casinos could boost the tourist industry. It could and probably would also bring more crime to the island.

Their have been some concern that the new tourism minister might have cut some deal with some outside influences to get the idea of gaming passed in Jamaica.
