This really comes as no surprise, considering the impact that Usain Bolt has had on Jamaica. According to RJR News," IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federation) and CAC (Central American and Caribbean) Male Athlete of the Year, was unchallenged for the men's Trophy after producing a tremendous season which saw him winning 3 Olympic gold medals all in world record times in Beijing, China."
His coach, Glen Mills also received and award for r Coach of the Year in addition to the IAAF and CAC awards for Coach of the Year.
The Jamaica United Relief Association based in the United States will be donating J$1 million to the JAAA every year until 2010. Melanie Walker faced strong contention from Veronica Campbell Brown and Shelly Ann Fraser
