In Memory of Carlton Grant Jr

We know that children should not go before their parents. The senseless killings have to stop. Well, no one knows the story of this killing but the gun. Residents are still in mourning over the August death of Spragga Benz's son, Carlton Grant (aka Little Wayne) . Carlton was known by many in his community and will be missed.

The police allege that two men were signaled to stop while they rode their bicycles along Church street (downtown Kingston). The men allegedly pulled guns and fired at the police, after which gun fire was returned.

Grant was found with gunshot wounds and died in the hospital. Police say a .45 Caliber gun was found on him.

Several eyewitnesses have stated they saw the police shoot Carlton. I wasn't there so I don't know, but I do know that sometimes we give authority to the wrong people. Police have to wonder why nobody want to turn the gunman in. Because people don't know who feh trust.

The truth will be revealed. Rest in Peace Little Youth.

Cop Corruption the Focus

Well the island is not trying to get itself back together by "finally" killing up the police department.
According to RadioJamaica, The Police Anti-Corruption Branch is turning up the heat on alleged corrupt cops.

Two Constables from the Black River Police in St. Elizabeth were arrested on Thursday on allegations of extortion.

Head of the Anti-Corruption Branch Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Justin Felice said the policemen will be interrogated Friday.

If the corruption in the government and police department were to be fixed then Jamaica would be the ideal place to live right now. I see where the residents are starting to turn in the crimminals. Fear has long been the dominating factor.


....Also on another related story The Anti-Corruption Branch is also awaiting a ruling from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Paula Llewellyn in a case involving a Montego Bay-based cop who is also accused of extortion.

Detective Constable Roger Forrester who is attached to the Montego Bay Police was detained last week Tuesday.


















ACP Felice told RJR News that a member of the Island Special Constabulary Force who was also being sought in connection with the case has turned himself in.

Cops losing Weapons While Sleeping

How the heck can you lose your weapon (and you are a police officer). Reports reaching the Observer are that the inspector, who is attached to the Firearm and Coastal Security (FCS) division, reported to the Constant Spring police that when he woke up early last Friday morning he discovered the weapon missing.

The inspector, a former general secretary of the police federation, told investigators that last Thursday night he arrived home at his Hughenden, Kingston 20 address very tired and fell asleep in his living room chair. When he woke up at 3:00 am Friday the gun was missing.

This seems to be happening frequently. Okay, you know the gunmen are just waiting for you to give then and opportunity, then you fall asleep and hand over your weapon. Lawd a mercy.

I really hope with this new government that they crack down on the guns entering Jamaica. It is sad, because we have many people who visit the country and enjoy all the beaches, scenery, Food, dancing and what have you. You have to understand though that when you leave, people who live there have to deal with the day to day living of fear.

Criminals in Jamaica have no fear. There is no fear from the police, soldiers, no one. Historically this lack fear is what gave Jamaica its independence. A proud people who would not allow colonial rule to bring them down. When you back a man in a corner though they will fight.

If you look in the many districts you see a lot of poverty. You see people who have to get up at the crack of dawn to go to market to make sure their family survives. This is a Jamaica that many do not see. As we come to the end of the year, my wish for NEXT YEAR is one of hope, peace and prosperity.
