Intervention in Negril Water Situation
The water shortage near parts of Negril and other parts of the western parish in Jamaica is getting bad. The hoteliers in the area state their livelihoods are being threatened. Evelyn Smith, president of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) held a meeting that outlined some of the challenges.
"Water has always been a challenge in the area for a number of years particularly in our drier months but over the years it has gotten particularly bad over the last six months," she reported.
