Shaggy Did His Thing

Many people have a new found respect or "SHAGGY." Shaggy apprarently tore it up (man I wish I could of been there) at the Jamaica House this past Saturday. " The list of entertainers included Lady Saw, Beenie Man, Tony Rebel, Freddie McGregor, D Major, Chris Martin, Etana, Tami Chynn, Morgan Heritage, Tessanne Chin, Elephant Man, Tarrus Riley, D'Angel, Wayne Marshall, Da'Ville, Allison Hinds, Omari, Goddy Goddy, Ryan Mark, Sean Paul, Macy Gray, Rik Rok, Marcia Griffiths, Rayvon, Buju Banton, Jessica Yap and Dean Fraser."

They were part of Shaggy's "Make a Difference Campaign." Many artistes supported the Shaggy and Friends concert in aid of the Bustamante Hospital for Children

I think more entertainers and politicians need to come together for more causes such as this. Sometimes we hear so many negative things on the island we forget that there are so many people there with such giving hearts.

Stone Love Awards

Stone Love's 36th Annual Awards at Mas Camp, Oxford Road was a star studded event. The Deejay of the Year Male and Female went to Vybz Kartel and D'Angel respectively, while Mavado was named Singjay of the Year.n(I want someone to tell me what a Singjay is?) Serani was named Singer of the Year, and the Best New Artist, Male and Female went to Konshens and Pamputae. Etana collected the award for Singer of the Year, and Stone Love selector, Diamond was named Employee of the Year.

Every year this event runs overtime. This year was no different. Stone Love's anniversary celebration was an all-in-one award ceremony, concert, party, flashback (a 'Real Rock' special section ended with Buju Baton chanting "soun' fe dead"), dance display (a series of groups among those who closed the event), celebrity acknowledgement (Usain Bolt was escorted up by the Magnum girls and displayed his dancing skills) and as usual he was doing his "gully" dance for the crowds.
